2D drafting for DWG and DXF
MotaCAD is 2D CAD for your Windows PC. Open, edit and save AutoCAD DWG and DXF drawings with the commands and command line you already know, then plot to PDF. It comes with every paid Motaware plan.

Comes with every paid plan. Without one, MotaCAD opens and views drawings. An alternative to AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT.
Open drawings from AutoCAD and send them back as DWG or DXF, with layers, blocks, dimensions, hatches and layouts kept as they were.
Type LINE, OFFSET, TRIM or FILLET at the command line, or pick them from the ribbon. Object snaps, polar tracking and dynamic input work the way you expect.
Dimension, label and fill your drawings with dimension styles, multileaders, text, tables and hatch patterns.
Set up sheets on layout tabs and plot them to PDF, images or your printer, one at a time or as a set.
Run your AutoLISP routines and script files, or automate MotaCAD with Python.

MotaCAD opens in read-only mode: you can still open, view and measure your drawings. Starting new drawings, saving, exporting and plotting need a paid plan. You are never locked out of your own files.
Only now and then. MotaCAD checks your plan when you sign in and from time to time after that. If it can't reach Motaware it keeps working for 14 days, and connecting again restores everything.
MotaCAD opens DWG files from AutoCAD 2007 and later, and DXF from any version. Drawings saved by AutoCAD 2000 or older need to be saved again in a newer format first.
Not at the moment. MotaCAD comes with the Motaware plans and isn't sold separately.
